I started Forerunner Insurance Group in 2015. I’ve always wanted to own an insurance agency throughout my career. When I launched the agency, I had no idea what direction the agency would go, what lines of business I would write or what we would specialize in. After many marketing tests, I noticed that a large number of truckers were calling for insurance quotes. My dad ran a truck stop when I was younger and I spent a lot of time around truckers growing up. It was very easy to talk to the truckers that were calling in for quotes and I genuinely wanted to help them.
After 2 years of running the agency, I realized quickly that getting the best insurance markets wasn’t as easy as I thought. I specifically remember getting tired of losing accounts to a large agency out in Tampa called the Campbell Group “An Acrisure Partner.” I don’t remember who I spoke with, but I know it was one of the principals and they told me their story about Acrisure. I never forgot that conversation. I reached out to Acrisure in 2019 and had a great talk with Dan Martin, he wasn’t pushy at all, and he took the time to really dive into what Acrisure was all about.
Speeding up to January of 2021, our agency had been growing year after year, we were still having problems with carrier markets. We were losing some of our largest customers to agencies that had better markets. I knew it was time to do something. I started reaching out to colleagues that I knew joined Acrisure and asked them about their experience. Every one of them said it was the best decision they have made in their insurance career and for their team.
April 2021 I met Paul Zizzo, “another Acrisure partner.” He invited my wife & I to meet him and his team at his office in Melbourne. We sat down and went over what it would look like if we joined. It was a big decision for my family to make a change like this but I knew it was time. After meeting Paul, I knew it was the right move forward for me, my staff & my customers.
On 8/1/21 we officially joined the Acrisure team. In the past 6 months, we have had new markets that are helping our customers like never before. We look forward to many years to come with Acrisure. Acrisure status speaks for itself. I am very excited for the future as an Acrisure partner. I believe we are the best of the best when it comes to insurance.
